Surveying & Mapping

High-bitrate downlinks for photogrammetry, LiDAR and survey payloads — imagery on the ground while the aircraft is still flying.

What this is

A survey aircraft produces data faster than it can land. Photogrammetry cameras, LiDAR heads and multispectral payloads stream high-bitrate imagery, and the link decides whether the ground team can check coverage during the flight or only after it.

The catalog's high-throughput models carry up to 80 Mbps peak radio throughput with Ethernet payload ports, from the 4KHD family to compact airborne modules.

Selection factors

What to weigh before shortlisting a model.

Payload bitrate and link budget

Match the camera's bitrate to the link's throughput class and leave room for telemetry and control. The 4KHD series sits at the top of the catalog's range; the Standard and J30 families trade bitrate for range and size.

Range and flight geometry

Survey blocks are flown at a working altitude with a clear path to the ground station.

Interfaces on both ends

Ethernet is the payload backbone across the catalog. Check the camera, gimbal and mission computer ports against the module's interface list before shortlisting.

Latency and ground review

The published models carry a 150 ms class maximum latency — enough for live coverage review and camera control during the pass.

Size, mass and power

Survey payloads compete for the same airframe budget. The 4KHD units start at 235 g on a 24 V supply; the Micro and Standard modules fit smaller platforms at lower bitrate.

Test footage

Recordings from the manufacturer's own test programme — bench, field, and flight tests, each shown with the conditions it was run under.

Ground-to-Air 50 km

Antenna briefing on site, take-off, and the ground-station view during a 50 km class ground-to-air test.
