Maritime Operations
Sealed short-range links and portable ground stations for USVs, coastal patrol and offshore work.
What this is
Maritime work puts the link in spray, salt and a moving deck. The radio has to survive the environment and keep command, telemetry and video moving between vessel and shore.
The catalog's Waterproof family covers 1–5 km ground-to-ground in sealed housings, while the VG-series ground stations provide the shore end in IP66 enclosures. For longer offshore links, the airborne long-range and mesh families pair with a shore antenna and a clear horizon.
Selection factors
What to weigh before shortlisting a model.
Sealed hardware
The Waterproof series is built for wet and corrosive duty; the VG-series ground stations carry IP66 enclosures. Match the enclosure to the deck environment.
Ground-to-ground range
Coastal and inshore missions sit in the 1–5 km class. Offshore work moves to the airborne long-range families with a shore antenna and a clear horizon.
Shore-end antenna height
Ground-to-ground range depends on antenna height at both ends. A mast on shore buys more distance than transmit power.
Video and control
Ethernet carries the vessel's camera feed; serial carries autopilot telemetry. The Waterproof and standard airborne units expose both.
Power on board
USVs run 12 V or 24 V buses. Check peak transmit current against the vessel's power budget.
Test footage
Recordings from the manufacturer's own test programme — bench, field, and flight tests, each shown with the conditions it was run under.
100 km Class Module Distance Test
Recorded from the ground-station screen during a distance test of a 100 km class module: live video, telemetry, and the RSSI/SNR link readout. The readout on screen reads 121 km, which is the condition of that test site rather than a mission guarantee.
